Sofia Airport opened a photography exhibition displaying natural and historical landmarks in Bulgaria.
Terminal 2 public zone shows imposing panels that attract the attention of passengers and visitors at the airport with photos of the beautiful cities of Melnik, Nessebar and Bansko, the Boyana Church, St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral, the bizarre shapes of the Belogradchik Rocks, the Panagyurishte Treasure and others.
Today passengers at Sofia Airport Terminal 2 listened to music written by Dvorac, Flower, Massenet, Gardel, as well as Ognyan Petrov’s adaptations of the famous “Tico-Tico”, “Comparsita”, “Pavana” and others.
Bulgarian Folklore Group Dzhivgari performed an attractive shopp folk dance and invited passengers and guests to Sofia Airport to a big chain dance – horo. The flash mob took place at Terminal 2 at the time of arrival of flights from Milan, Munich and others.
In July Sofia Airport serviced a total of 362 800 passengers at both airport terminals, thus achieving a 9 % increase on annual basis. Airlines operating flights at Terminal 2 were chosen by 68 per 100 passengers on international and domestic flights. The remaining 32 % of total passengers flow used Terminal 1.
International scheduled flights continued having the largest share of serviced passengers – 338 543 (93%) and a significant increase of 11% was achieved in mid summer as compared to July 2013.
Sofia Airport already has a special waiting zone designed for passengers with reduced mobility (PRMs). It can be found at Terminal 2, “Departure”, next to check-in desk No 1.
