Today the photography exhibition under the name “Sofia Airport’s unknown faces” was opened at Terminal 2. The authors – Ognyan Stefanov and Yane Golev presented about 115 photos of colleagues holding different positions at the airport.
The exhibition includes photos that illustrate the main activities and departments at the airport, but also offer a more intriguing glimpse at the invisible and less known side of the work routine. The viewers can see many new aspects of securing an aircraft journey and find out that the convenient and safe flight depends not only on the professionals in the cockpit, but it is a consequence of the efforts of many people working in a big and well synchronized mechanism.
„A story of Sofia Airport has never been told in such manner and scale, which makes it even more attractive. We hope that we managed to tell the story successfully through the photos.”, the young photographers said.
The opening of the exhibition was accompanied by the musical performance of Eolina quartet. The day was not chosen by accident – on 16 September, 77 years ago, Sofia Airport started operating officially as a civilian airport.
The photos will raise the spirits of passengers and visitors at the airport until the end of the year.
