On the World Tourism Day (27 September), for a sixth consecutive year, photography exhibition “Bulgaria – an attractive tourist destination” starts its journey around the country from Sofia Airport.
This year also Sofia Airport provides space for the exhibition of selected photographies and participates in the awards ceremony the winners from the international online competition received their awards. At the official ceremony held at Terminal 2 “Departures” public zone, Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova presented awards to the winners.
The first prize went to photography “It is serene all around Shipka” by Plamen Kozhuharov. Veronika Stoykova’s photo – “Bolota Beach” (Kavarna Municipality) took the second place, and “The Incredible Rhodope Mountains” (Bashevo village) by Kalin Todorov received the third prize. The organizers presented a special award to Miroslav Mominski, 5 additional prizes and consolation prizes to all participating photographers in the exhibition.
Sofia Airport awarded the winners with Simeon Petrov’s book “First Among Eagles” and Plamen Kozhuharov will have the opportunity to take a look inside the airport at a guided tour.
An authoritative jury has selected the 30 photographies out of 500 received photos. Their authors are Bulgarian and foreign photographers. The photos show different customs, traditions, lifestyles, garments, as well as other interesting moments of people’s life in different regions. They also depict the natural, cultural and historical landmarks all over Bulgaria.
For a month, the exhibition „Bulgaria– an attractive tourist destination” will be on view for passengers at Terminal 2 public zone.
