In the heart of Sofia, the garden in front of "Crystal", as of today you can see 27 photographies gathered in the exhibition "Unknown Airport Sofia". The photos have not only artistic but also informational value. The photographs show interesting moments from the daily life of the largest Bulgarian airport, as well as little-known facts coming from the "kitchen" of aviation. Seeing them you can learn that the aircraft fuel tanks are in the wings, what the runway looks like from the cockpit and why at Sofia Airport aircraft land safely in low visibility.
Authors of the photographs are Angel Aleksandrov, Boyko Kanchev, Veselin Tsolev, Desislava Grueva, Dimitar Bachvarov, Ognyan Tinchev and Pavel Bogdanov. They all work at the airport, but the passion for photography has turned their hobby into a professional occupation. Their work gives us a different view of the place where we often go through – the airport.
The exhibition is organized with the support of Sofia Municipality and can be seen until 4 September.
