Once again Sofia Airport welcomed the passengers and guests at Terminal 1 with a classical music concert. The event happened on the occasion of the significant for Bulgarian aviation date of 29 June – on that day in 1947 the first flight from Sofia to Bourgas was launched.
Today, baroque, classical and modern music sounded at Terminal 1, performed by Sofia Sinfonietta’s quartet. Twelve classic works by Handel, Mozart, Brahms, Offenbach, as well as film music by Ennio Morricone were played for an hour attracting passengers’ attention. The romantic quartet consisting of two violins, viola and violoncello fascinated the Departure public zone and was welcomed with applause.
The performance is part of the sequence of classical concerts that chamber ensembles will perform on the territory of Sofia Airport in the period from 02 June to 29 September 2014 supporting the candidature of Sofia and South-Western region for European Capital of Culture 2019.
